Scores Reported Killed In Algerian Military Plane Crash

An Algerian military plane has crashed in the eastern part of the country, killing some 100 people.

Algerian radio said the number of dead from the crash on February 11 was 99, while the private Ennahar TV station put the figure at 103.

The Hercules C-130 aircraft was carrying more than 100 servicemen and their family members from a southern desert town when it crashed in a mountainous area in the Oum El Bouaghi Province, some 500 kilometers east of Algiers.

It was still unclear whether there were any survivors.

The cause of the crash is still not known.
