Amal Clooney Says She's Representing Ismayilova

Imprisoned RFE/RL contributor Khadija Ismayilova is considering an offer of legal representation by human rights lawyer Amal Clooney. The wife of Hollywood star George Clooney previously has taken on prominent cases in Egypt, Armenia and the Maldives. Ismayilova was sentenced in September 2015 to 7 1/2 years in prison on charges widely viewed as trumped up, in retaliation for reporting on high-level corruption. (RFE/RL)
