Bahraini security forces have killed a teenage boy during protests on the second anniversary of a pro-democracy uprising in the Arab Gulf state.
Reports say protesters from largely Shi'ite villages earlier on blocked roads around the capital Manama earlier on February 14 and hurled stones and fire bombs at police.
Police fired shotguns and tear gas in response.
Bahrain has been in political turmoil since Shi'ite-led mass protests erupted in February 2011 to demand that the Sunni Muslim monarchy give up its monopoly on power.
The protests were crushed by security forces but unrest continued.
These latest clashes could mar reconciliation talks between the opposition and the government which resumed at the weekend for the first time since they broke down in July 2011.
Bahrain is a Washington ally which hosts the U.S. Fifth Fleet.
