Serbia and Croatia are to resume flights between their capitals in December, 23 years after they were interrupted.
In a statement on November 7, the Serbian national airline Air Serbia announced the launch of a double daily service between Belgrade and Zagreb from December 12.
Air Serbia's Chief Executive Officer, Dane Kondic, said the new line will meet the “growing demand of business and leisure travelers regularly commuting” between the two capitals.
He said the new service will also "provide two-way connections over Belgrade between Croatia, mainland Europe, and key global destinations".
Flights between Belgrade and Zagreb were interrupted in 1991 when conflict broke out after Croatia proclaimed independence from Yugoslavia.
The 1991-1995 conflict between forces loyal to the Croatian government and the Belgrade-backed Serb minority claimed some 20,000 lives.
