Four people were reported killed and at least 25 injured by a remote-control bomb that exploded outside a shrine in the city of Nowshera, in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.

Police warned that the casualty toll could rise.

The area around the shrine was crowded by people celebrating the second day of Eid.

Police reported that the bomb had been planted on a bicycle parked outside the main entrance to the Ziarat Kaka Sahib shrine.

There has been no claim of responsibility.
