A Bosnian court has sentenced a man to 18 years in jail after convicting him of terrorism for shooting at the U.S. Embassy.
Mevlid Jasarevic opened fire on the Sarajevo Embassy on October 28, 2011, injuring a police officer before he was shot in the leg and arrested.
He said in a video made before the attack that he wanted NATO out of Afghanistan and demanded that Bosnia-Herzegovina stop harassing his Muslim sect.
Two alleged accomplices were acquitted.
The prosecutor's office said it will appeal the acquittals.
The three are followers of the Wahhabi sect, an austere brand of Sunni Islam that authorities in Bosnia consider a threat.
