Tsarnaev Lawyers Want Trial Moved

Lawyers for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev have requested his upcoming trial be moved to Washington D.C.

The lawyers said so many residents of Boston had been at the race that it would be next to impossible to select an impartial jury there.

The lawyers said a survey they commissioned of potential jurors, including the Boston area and New York, found Washington to be the city with the least prejudiced jurors.

Earlier on June 18, a judge told prosecutors they may not use the fact that Tsarnaev is a naturalized U.S. citizen as a factor in determining whether he should be executed if convicted.

The 20-year-old Tsarnaev is the surviving member of a pair of ethnic Chechen brothers accused of killing three people and injuring more than 260 at the 2013 marathon.

Tsarnaev has pleaded not guilty.
