Rio Olympics, Day 15

Five-year-old Joaquim Villano of Rio de Janeiro celebrates on the shoulders of his uncle after Brazil defeated Germany in the men's soccer gold medal match. In front of 78,000 at Rio’s Maracana Stadium, Neymar fired the winning goal as Brazil beat Germany 5-4 on penalties.

Russia's Margarita Mamun competes in the final event of rhythmic gymnastics. Mamun won the individual all-around gold medal to give Russia its fifth consecutive title in the event. The 20-year-old edged Russian teammate Yana Kudryavtseva. Ganna Rizatdinova of Ukraine claimed bronze.

Abdulrashid Sadulaev of Russia (in red) in action against Selim Yasar of Turkey during the wrestling men's freestyle 86-kilogram gold medal bout. Sadulaev defeated Yasar, taking the gold. Bronze medals went to Azerbaijan's Sharif Sharifov and American J'Den Cox.

Players from Montenegro and Italy compete in the bronze-medal match in water polo. Italy won the bronze. Serbia took the gold, defeating Croatia.

Participants compete in the women's triathlon final. Gwen Jorgensen of the United States won gold with a time of 1 hour, 56 minutes, 16 seconds. Nicola Spirig of Switzerland won silver, with Britain's Vicky Holland winning bronze.

Mo Farah of Britain celebrates after winning the men's 5,000-meter final, his second in succession. He is Britan's most successful Olympic track-and-field athlete of all time. Kenyan-born American Paul Chelimo took silver, while Ethiopia's Hagos Gebrehiwet claimed bronze.

Korey Jarvis of Canada (in red) in action against Komeil Nemat Ghasemi of Iran in the men's freestyle wrestling 125-kilogram qualification match. Turkey's Taha Akgul won gold, with Ghasemi taking silver, and Ibrahim Saidau of Belarus and Geno Petriashvili of Georgia sharing the bronze.
