MONDAY, July 15:

Armenia: OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Leonid Kozhara visits Yerevan.

Azerbaijan: Azerbaijan and the United States hold joint military exercises – called Black Sea Rotational Force 2013 – at a military training ground at Novo Selo in NATO member Bulgaria (to August 4).

Belarus/China: Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka visits Beijing (to July 17).

Iran: UN expert Ahmed Shaheed conducts a fact-finding mission to the U.S. and Canada to gather information through the Iranian diaspora about alleged human rights violations in Iran.

Uzbekistan/China: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visits Tashkent.

Russia: Fourth anniversary of rights activist Natalya Estemirova's abduction and subsequent murder in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Chechnya.

Belarus//Russia: Romanian and U.S. military inspectors fly over the territories of Russia and Belarus under the international Open Skies Treaty.


TUESDAY, July 16:

Moldova: Next round of 5+2 talks on the Transdniester conflict settlement is scheduled to begin in Vienna (to July 17).

U.S./Azerbaijan: The Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (U.S. Helsinki Commission) hosts a discussion in Washington titled "Troubled Partner: Growing Authoritarianism in Azerbaijan."


WEDNESDAY, July 17:

Azerbaijan/Germany: Berlin hosts the third meeting of Azerbaijan-Germany high-level working group on trade and investments (to July 18).

Moldova: Romanian President Traian Basescu visits Chisinau.

Russia: Closing ceremony of the 27th Summer Universiade in Kazan.

Serbia: EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fuele visits Belgrade.

U.S.: The National Endowment for Democracy (NED)’s 2013 Democracy Award to be presented to young leaders from Pakistan, Russia, Zimbabwe, and Cuba.


THURSDAY, July 18:
