The leader of Russia's North Caucasus republic of Chechnya says he is not against unblocking the access to YouTube in his republic, according to the republican government website.
Talking to journalists in the town of Sernovodsk on May 13, Ramzan Kadyrov said YouTube could be used "to respond radicals who want to insult Muslims and divide our society."
In July, a court in the Chechen capital, Grozny, ordered the blocking of YouTube because it hosted a U.S.-made amateur movie "Innocence of Muslims."
The privately produced film mocked the Prophet Muhammad, portraying him as a womanizer and child molester.
It was banned in Russia and several other countries and sparked sometimes intense protests by Muslims around the world.
