Vote-Count Under Way In Egypt

Vote-counting is under way in Egypt's presidential election.

The campaigns of both former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq and Muslim Brotherhood candidate Mohammed Mursi claim to be in the lead, but it is uncertain when preliminary results will be announced.

Meanwhile, Egypt's ruling military council on Monday will issue an amended "constitutional declaration" in the wake of a recent court decision declaring the elected parliament invalid.

The new document has not yet been made public, but Egyptian state television reported that it gives legislative power and financial oversight to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, which has controlled the country since Hosni Mubarak stepped down in 2011.

The council will present the document at a press conference on Monday.
