Eurozone Ministers Discuss Greek Bailout Conditions

Eurozone finance ministers have held a conference call to discuss the conditions of an emergency 130 billion-euro ($170 billion) bailout for Greece.

Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker, who heads the group of eurozone finance ministers, said in a statement after the meeting that "all the necessary decisions" on Greece would be made on February 20.

The Greek parliament approved austerity measures on February 12, as Greece needs a first installment from the bailout urgently to prevent the country from going into default next month.

Juncker said after the conference call that "substantial further progress" had been made since February 14.

He said Greek coalition parties had given "strong assurances" they would implement the cuts, regardless of who wins a general election scheduled for April.

The ministers on February 14 had canceled a meeting on the bailout, saying that they had not received sufficient guarantees from Athens.
