15 Killed In Russian Accident Involving Migrant Workers

A major car accident in western Russia has killed 15 people and injured four others.

A Bryansk region police spokesman said on March 16 that a van collided with a truck late the previous day on the Bryansk to Novozybkov highway.

Police said preliminary reports show that most of those riding in the van were migrant workers from Central Asia who were returning from a border checkpoint where they had their visas extended.

A law enforcement official said some of the passengers in the van were from Uzbekistan.

All of the casualties occurred among the passengers of the van, while the truck driver was only slightly injured.
