Five Killed In Crash Of Small Plane Near Kyiv

Authorities in Ukraine say five people have been killed and 13 injured when their small plane crashed while attempting to land in bad weather near the capital, Kyiv.

Ukraine's Emergency Situations Ministry said the plane was carrying 16 would-be parachute jumpers and two crewmembers.

Plans for the parachutists to jump from the plane were canceled because of a heavy rainstorm and high winds.

The plane belonged to a pilot school at the Borodyanka Airport about 30 kilometers west of Kyiv.
