Germany's Merkel Announces Plan To Quit

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has announced that she will not seek reelection as head of her CDU party in December, and will not seek reelection as chancellor in 2021. Merkel made the announcement following what she called "disappointing and bitter" results in elections to the Hessen state legislature.
