German And Israeli Governments Holding Joint Session

Chancellor Angela Merkel

The Israeli and German governments are convening for a joint session -- the third such annual meeting since the countries signed a special arrangement.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in Jerusalem today with 10 of her cabinet ministers.

The two sides are expected to sign a series of agreements on joint economic projects. They are also expected to discuss the crisis in Egypt.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that "we will discuss the developing situation in the region."
