Talks on forming a new Greek government will continue after the smallest party in the coalition talks walked out on the third day.
The office of the Greek president says the talks will resume on November 10. The negotiations still haven't resulted in the naming of a new prime minister.
Less than an hour before the statement from the president's office, outgoing Prime Minister George Papandreou said an agreement had been reached with the opposition on the creation of an interim government that will secure the country's new debt deal.
In the televised address, Papandreou wished the next prime minister well but gave no indication of who it might be.
Greece's main party leaders have been locked in talks since November 7 on who will lead a short-term coalition cabinet whose main task would be to to push through an EU/IMF bailout deal, until early elections in February.
Greece's central banker today said it was "imperative" for a rapid deal to restore the country's battered credibility, and the Athens stock exchange fell sharply amid continued uncertainty about the new coalition deal.
