The Russian football club Anzhi Makhachkala has signed Dutch coach Guus Hiddink on an 18-month contract.
Anzhi is owned by Suleiman Kerimov, a billionaire from Russia's southern province of Daghestan.
The club signed striker Samuel Eto'o from Inter Milan last summer.
Hiddink, 65, said he was not moving to Anzhi for the money. The club did not release financial terms of Hiddink's contract.
Hiddink has coached numerous clubs and national sides, including guiding three different national teams to the semifinals of major tournaments.
A stadium was named in his honor after he took co-host South Korea to the semifinals of the 2002 World Cup, four years after guiding the Netherlands to the last four in France.
In 2008, he took Russia to the European Championship semifinals, beating the Netherlands in the quarterfinals.
