The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says Iran has agreed to answer long-ignored queries about its controversial nuclear program.
The IAEA said on May 21 that Iranian officials agreed to respond by August 25 to issues related to an investigation into whether Iran tried to secretly develop nuclear arms.
The IAEA added that Iran agreed to exchange information regarding "allegations related to the initiation of high explosives" and charges that it worked on models of a nuclear warhead.
The nuclear agency made the announcement during a visit by an IAEA delegation to Tehran.
Iran hopes that by providing information to the IAEA it will be able to have some of the sanctions against it cancelled.
Iran denies having ever worked on a nuclear-weapons capability and says its program is purely for peaceful purposes.
