Tehran, Nuclear Watchdog To Hold Talks In December

IAEA Director-General Yukio Amano

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says that Iran has agreed to hold new talks on allowing a probe into its nuclear activities.

Speaking in Vienna on November 9, IAEA spokesman Gill Tudor said the new round of talks will be held in Tehran on December 13.

The announcement comes after Yukio Amano, the director-general of the IAEA, issued a warning at the UN General Assembly on November 5.

He said talks with Iran have intensified this year after an IAEA report in November 2011 said it had "credible information that Iran had carried out activities relevant to the development of a nuclear explosive device."

But Amano said efforts to persuade Iran to give more information on its nuclear program had produced "no concrete results."
