Iran's president Hassan Rohani warned U.S. President Donald Trump against provoking his country, saying that a conflict with Iran would be "the mother of all wars." In a speech to Iranian diplomats in Tehran on July 22, Rohani said the United States was incapable of stopping Iran from selling its crude oil on the world market. This came in response to the Trump administration’s efforts to impose wide-ranging economic sanctions on Iran and disrupt its oil exports. Trump later responded with a tweet, telling Rohani to "never, ever threaten the United States again, or you will suffer consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before."
