The European Union says talks between Iran and six world powers on a deal to rein in Tehran's nuclear program are scheduled to resume in New York on September 18.
The announcement came on September 4, as U.S. and Iranian officials started a two-day bilateral meeting in Geneva for talks on Iran's nuclear program.
The bilateral consultations are part of an effort by the six powers - the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France, and Germany - to ensure Iran does not develop the capability to build nuclear weapons.
Tehran says its nuclear activities have solely peaceful aims, including power generation.
The parties reached an interim agreement with Tehran last year and have set a November 24 deadline for a final deal that would restrict Iran's nuclear activities in exchange for the removal of sanctions.
