Iran's Supreme Leader Speaks On Nuclear Program, Threats, Israel

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has vowed that Tehran will not give in to international pressure to abandon its nuclear program.

In a speech broadcast on February 3, Khameini also threatened possible Iranian retaliation over a military attack on Iran or international sanctions targeting Iranian oil exports.

The supreme leader said that "threatening Iran and attacking Iran will harm America.”

Amid speculation that Israel could be planning a military strike on Iran, Khameini also hit out at Tel Aviv, pledging that Iran will assist any nation or group that confronts it.

Khamenei’s speech comes as events are being held in Iran marking the 33rd anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
