Iranian Army Starts War Games Near Iraqi Border

The Iranian Army has started ground and air military exercises near Iran's western border with Iraq.

State television said the two-day drills are aimed at maintaining the readiness of the armed forces for countering international military threats.

It showed troops parachuting from helicopters near the towns of Sarpol-e Zahab and Qasr-e Shirin in the western Kermanshah Province.
