Renzi Formally Sworn In As Italian Prime Minister

Italian center-left leader Matteo Renzi has been formally sworn in as the country's prime minister.

Renzi, the leader of the Democratic Party took his oath of office from President Giorgio Napolitano on February 22, taking over as head of a 16-member coalition cabinet.

Last week, Renzi orchestrated a mutiny within his center-left party to oust Enrico Letta as prime minister, accusing Letta of failing to revive Italy's economy.

At the age of 39, he is Italy's youngest-ever prime minister.
