MiGs Found On North Korean Ship In Panama

Panama says investigators have found two Soviet-era MiG-21 fighter jets aboard a North Korean ship that sailed from Cuba.

Panamanian President Ricardo Martinelli said investigators also found two missile radar systems aboard the "Chong Chon Gang."

Also found on board were cables and electrical equipment.

Panama had earlier said it suspected containers on the ship could contain explosive material.

No explosive material has been found.

Cuba has said the ship, which was stopped by Panama last week, contained "obsolete" arms that were being sent to North Korea for repair.

Panama has asked the United Nations Security Council to investigate the ship and its contents amid suspicions that North Korea could be in breach of sanctions imposed on the North over its nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
