Kyrgyz PM Picks Moscow For First Trip Abroad

BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz Prime Minister Almazbek Atambaev’s first trip abroad since he took office last week will be to the Russian capital, Moscow, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reports.

Social Democratic Party spokesman Farid Niyazov told RFE/RL that Atambaev's trip to Moscow is currently under preparation. He did not give an exact date but said Atambaev will hold talks with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, and other top officials while in Moscow.

The government press service told RFE/RL that Moscow has not yet given any information regarding Atambaev's planned trip.
