The huge team of investigative journalists behind the Pandora Papers document leak say they have revealed how elites in former Soviet republics, including the current presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan, are linked with companies that use offshore tax havens to hide their wealth. The report also links Russian President Vladimir Putin to secret assets in Monaco. Other leaked documents show that the "unofficial third wife" of Kazakhstan's former President Nursultan Nazarbaev received $30 million for "almost nothing," according to journalists. The investigation was conducted by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), bringing together more than 600 journalists from 150 news outlets around the world. There was no immediate response from officials in the countries concerned.
