Police In Kabardino-Balkaria Investigates Deadly Attack On Two Policemen

Authorities in the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria in Russia’s volatile North Caucasus have launched investigations into a deadly attack on two policemen.

One of the attacked policemen died at the crime scene after an unknown group of armed individuals open fire at him and his colleague in the republic's capital, Nalchik, on July 18.

The second policeman died later in hospital of wounds sustained in the attack.

The two policemen were from Russia's Volga region's Kirov Oblast.

They were sent to Nalchik to take custody of suspects allegedly involved in an Islamic insurgents' attack on Nalchik in October, 2005.
