Director Of Russian Bank's Branch In Bashkortostan Found Dead

The director of the Russian Central Commercial Bank in the capital of Russia's region of Bashkortostan, Ufa, has been found shot dead in his apartment block.

Law enforcement officials in Ufa say the body of Aleksandr Potyomkin was found by neighbors in the stairwell of the building early on May 4.

Unconfirmed reports say it appeared Potyomkin had shot himself with a rifle.

Bashkortostan's Investigative Committee said it launched an investigation into the death and has not ruled out foul play.

Potyomkin had been running the Central Commercial Bank's branch in Ufa since October 2011.
