Russian Envoy, Wife Out Of Hospital After Sudan Stabbing

The Russian Embassy in Sudan says a Russian diplomat and his wife have returned from a hospital to their diplomatic residence in Khartoum after being stabbed at the embassy gates.

The Russian diplomat was identified as the consular department chief.

The suspect, who was detained by Russian Embassy guards, reportedly is from Central African Republic.

He reportedly was angered after learning that his brother had been killed by a European soldier amid violence that is plaguing the Central African Republic.

France has deployed troops to the Central African Republic, and the European Union has approved sending troops there.

But Russia has no soldiers in that country.
