Russian Man Gets Prison Term For Posting Photo Of St. George's Ribbon Tied To Male Genitals

A Russian court on January 11 sentenced a man to 18 months in prison for posting a photo online of male genitals with a St. George's ribbon tied to them in May 2023. Vladimir Yarotsky was found guilty by Krasnodar’s Pervomaisky District Court of desecrating a symbol of Russia's military glory. In December 2022, Russia criminalized the desecration of the St. George ribbon with a punishment of up to five years in prison.
