Russia’s Federal Security Service has arrested a man, who allegedly planned a series of terrorist attacks in Moscow.
Russia's National Antiterrorist Committee (NAK) said Yulai Davletbayev was arrested on June 6.
His two associates were killed and one arrested in a special operation last month.
A court in Moscow ordered Davletbayev held in pretrial detention until at least until July 20.
According to the NAK, the group was connected to the Islamic Party of Turkestan (IPT) and were trained in a terrorist camp in Afghanistan.
The IPT is believed to have links to Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants.
It has been banned in Russia and Central Asian countries and is on the U.S. State Department list of foreign terrorist organizations.
Security forces in Afghanistan and Pakistan have clashed with IPT militants in recent months.
