Russian Missiles Rain Down On Kyiv And Other Ukrainian Cities

Ukraine's military says that more than 50 cruise missiles were fired from aircraft operating in the Caspian Sea and Russia's Rostov region.

The governor of the Kyiv region, Oleksiy Kuleba, said “massive shelling” had damaged electricity and energy infrastructure and warned of power cuts.

Ukrainian officials claim to have shot down 44 out of 50 missiles, although that could not be independently confirmed. Videos on social media appeared to show several missiles being intercepted in the skies above the capital.

Kyiv's mayor reported on Telegram that 80 percent of the city's residents were without water and that about 350,000 apartments had no electricity following the attacks.

During the attack on Ukraine, a Russian missile was apparently hit by antiaircraft fire and went down in neighboring Moldova.

The city of Zaporizhzhya was also targeted in the attack, with the mayor saying there were power outages in the city.
