Tajik President Emomali Rahmon says an Arab-style revolution is "impossible" in his country.
Speaking in his annual address to parliament, Rahmon said that's because "The country has lived through a five-year civil conflict, which killed more than 100,000 people and turned around one million into refugees," suggesting Tajiks are tired of conflict.
Rahmon has been criticized for attempts to stifle opposition voices and for crackdowns on religious groups.
He has also accused unnamed foreign forces of trying to spark unrest in his nation, which shares a border with Afghanistan.
