Activists and witnesses say Syrian security forces used live ammunition and tear gas against protesters in several cities around the country on July 29.

Activists say one person was killed when troops opened fire in the Mediterranean town of Latakia, and one was shot dead in Deir Ezzor.
There were also reports of one death in a neighborhood in Damascus and another in the southern city of Daraa.
Earlier in the day, authorities said a bomb blast struck a major oil pipeline in western Syria.
State television said the explosion was a "terrorist" attack by a group of "saboteurs." It was the second incident involving an oil pipeline in a month.
