Thousands of protesters have massed in Istanbul to demand justice for a prominent Turkish-Armenian journalist murdered seven years ago.
On January 19, Turkish riot police were out in force at Istanbul's Taksim Square, where protesters had gathered to mark the anniversary of Hrant Dink's death.
Demonstrators chanted slogans such as "Murderer state will account for this" and "We are all Hrant Dink, we are all Armenians."
The 52 year-old Dink, a leading member of Turkey's small Armenian community, was gunned down in broad daylight by a teenage ultranationalist near the office of his newspaper, "Agos."
Dink enraged many Turkish nationalists for describing the mass killings of Armenians during World War I as genocide.
Dink's supporters claim a state cover up and accuse the government of protecting officials allegedly involved in Dink’s murder.
