Turkey's Erdogan Claims Victory, Backs Reinstating Death Penalty

President Tayyip Erdogan told supporters that Turkey could hold a new referendum on reinstating the death penalty. As he claimed victory in a referendum on April 16 that will hand him sweeping new powers, Erdogan said he soon would discuss bringing back the death penalty with Prime Minister Binali Yildirim and the leader of the nationalist opposition.
