Turkey's foreign minister will visit Iran on January 4 for talks on the Tehran's controversial nuclear program.
The Turkish foreign ministry said Ahmet Davutoglu will hold two-day consultations with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi about Iran's nuclear program as well as developments in Iraq and Syria.
The ministry said the talks were part of regular meetings between the countries' foreign ministers which are held twice a year.
Nonetheless, the meeting comes amid increased tensions between Iran and Western powers over Iran's nuclear program.
Some Western governments suspect Iran is seeking to develop nuclear weapons, while Iran says its nuclear program is entirely peaceful.
