U.A.E. Extends Lifeline To Flood-Ravaged Pakistan

The United Arab Emirates has agreed to extend payment on a $2 billion outstanding loan to Pakistan and to loan an additional $1 billion, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s office said on January 12. The aid comes as Pakistan is battling to recover from a summer of devastating flooding. Sharif was in the U.A.E. for two days of talks with Abu Dhabi ruler Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
