Obama To Travel To Britain, Saudi Arabia Next Month

U.S. President Barack Obama will travel to Saudi Arabia and Britain ahead of his previously scheduled trip to Germany next month.

The White House says Obama will head to Saudi Arabia on April 21 for a summit of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Efforts against the Islamic State militant group and other Middle East security issues are expected to be discussed during the talks.

In Britain, Obama will have lunch with Queen Elizabeth II and meet with Prime Minister David Cameron.

The U.S. president has encouraged Britain to remain in the European Union ahead of the country's June referendum on EU membership.

In Germany, Obama will attend the Hanover trade show and meet with Chancellor Angela Merkel.
