Pastor Detained In Iran Returns To U.S.

Pastor Eddie Romero said he was strip-searched twice.

A U.S. pastor who was detained for more than 24 hours in Tehran earlier this week has returned to the United States.

Pastor Eddie Romero arrived in Los Angeles on October 23 after being kicked out of Iran by Iranian authorities.

He told journalists after his arrival that he was treated well while in detention and had "good, long discussions" with his English-speaking interrogator. "To me, it was just a wonderful time together," Romero said.

He said he was strip-searched twice and interrogated for a total of six hours.

Romero was detained on October 21 outside of Iran's Evin Prison, where he was demonstrating in support of several imprisoned Christian converts and a jailed human rights lawyer.

After Romero shouted slogans for about five minutes, he surrendered peacefully to prison guards.
