U.S. Launches First Drone Strike In Libya

The United States has launched its first drone strike in Libya.

The U.S. Defense Department announced the strike today but did not provide any details on the target.

NATO has previously said the use of unmanned drones will allow more precise strikes on targets, especially in urban warfare.

The first use of drones comes as fierce fighting continues today in the city of Misurata.

News reports say at least 10 people were killed and 50 wounded in street battles there today, despite earlier reports that government troops had been ordered to withdraw.

Libyan Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Kaim said today that tribal forces will confront the rebels in Misurata if Libyan soldiers cannot "solve the problem."
