Pakistani Police Says American Shooter Did Not Act In Self-Defense

U.S. national Raymond Davis is accused of killing two men

Pakistani police says an American man who shot dead two Pakistanis last month did not act in self-defense, as he claims.

Aslam Tareen, the police chief in the city of Lahore where the fatal shooting occurred, said police investigators determined it was a case of "clear murder."

The case of the American, identified by Pakistanis as Raymond Davis, has raised tensions between the United States and Pakistan.

The American says he shot dead the two Pakistanis because they were trying to rob him. The United States says he has diplomatic immunity.

Earlier today, a Pakistani judge ordered that the American remain in custody for 14 more days and also told the government it must clarify whether he has diplomatic immunity.
