24 July 2005 -- London police tonight announced the arrest of a third man in connection with the attempted bombings on the city's public transport network on 21 July.
Police said the man was arrested on Saturday night under antiterrorism legislation. They gave no further details.
Britain's capital has been tense ever since terror attacks on 7 July, in which at least 52 people were killed. Those attacks were followed two weeks later by another, unsuccessful, set of attempted bombings.
