Gunmen Kill Wife, Sons Of Iraqi Sunni Arab Cleric


The funeral of an earlier Sunni victim of the violence in Iraq, Ayaad al-Ezi, a senior official in the largest Sunni party (file photo) (epa) 31 January 2006 -- Iraqi police say gunmen have killed the wife and two sons of a Sunni Arab cleric north of Baghdad.

The cleric, Qassim Daham al-Hamdani, was not at his house in Al-Muqdadiyah at the time of the attack late on 30 January.

In other news, police say that, early on 31 January, a baker was shot dead inside his bakery in the capital's western Al-Khadra neighborhood.
