Blast Kills 100th British Soldier In Iraq


British troops on patrol in Al-Basrah (file photo) (AFP) 31 January 2006 -- A British soldier was killed by an explosion in southern Iraq today, becoming the 100th member of the British military services to die in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.


Britain's Ministry of Defense said three other soldiers were hurt in the blast, which happened in the southern port of Umm Qasr in Al-Basrah Province.
