Polish President On Surprise Visit To Iraq


Polish President Lech Kaczynski (file photo) (AFP) April 6, 2006 -- Polish President Lech Kaczynski paid a surprise visit to Iraq today.


Kaczynski reportedly discussed political, economic, and military cooperation with his Iraqi counterpart, Jalal Talabani, in Baghdad.


He later visited Polish soldiers stationed in Al-Diwaniyah, south of the capital. Poland currently has 900 troops stationed in Iraq.
