Dozens Of Afghan Militants Reportedly Killed

Police at a checkpoint in Helmand Province (file photo) (epa) May 29, 2006 -- Reports say a U.S.-led coalition air strike today killed dozens of militants in the southern Afghan province of Helmand.

The province's deputy governor, Amir Mohammad Akhund, says it is believed that several Taliban commanders died in the attack, which was carried out in the Kajaki district.

Coalition officials have not yet commented on the reports.
