Al-Qaeda Says Moussaoui Not Part Of 9/11 Plot

Zacarias Moussaoui, as depicted by a courtroom artist (epa) June 13, 2006 -- A statement purportedly by Al-Qaeda says the Frenchman Zacarias Moussaoui, who was convicted for conspiring of aiding the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the United States, had nothing to do with the plot.

The statement says, however, that there was a 20th member of the group who was unable to join the 19 hijackers in the attacks. The statement names him as Turki bin Fheid al-Muteiri, a Saudi, and says he was killed in June 2004 in Riyadh.
